Former NFL player makes bizarre threat on Instagram and closes down an entire high school

Former Miami Dolphins football player Jonathan Martin was reportedly detained by police after a bizarre threat was posted on his Instagram account against other players and his former school.

Here's the odd post from his Instagram account:

The post shows a shotgun and shells with the text, "When you're a bully victim & a coward, your options are suicide, or revenge." There were also the Twitter screennames for former teammates Ritchie Incognito, Mike Pouncey, who he accused of bullying him in 2013, and the name of the high school he had attended.

The implied threat led to the closing of the campus on Harvard-Westlake in Los Angeles as a precaution.

"The safety of our students, faculty and staff is always our primary concern. So, out of an abundance of caution, we made the decision to close school today," explained an email to the school's students. "The school's private security team is working with the Los Angeles Police Department, which is present on both campuses.”

The Los Angeles police appear to have detained Martin, but they could only say, "the individual we believe to be responsible for the social media post has been detained and the investigation is ongoing," while not confirming the identity of the person who posted the message.

Martin left the NFL after being bullied by Incognito and Pouncey of extreme bullying that caused him to consider suicide.
