After ISIS praises OSU attacker as 'soldier,' Trump says he never should have been here
November 30, 2016
The Islamic State on Tuesday claimed responsibility for Monday's attack at Ohio State University, calling 18-year-old OSU student Abdul Razak Ali Artan "a soldier of the Islamic State."
President-elect Donald Trump responded early Wednesday morning on Twitter to state that the attacker should never have been in the country in the first place.
Artan, who was shot and killed on the scene by an Ohio State University police officer, rammed a group of pedestrians with his car, then began stabbing people with a butcher knife. Several were injured. He was of Somali descent and was a legal permanent resident of the United States, according to NBC News.
