CNN's Don Lemon sings Biden's praises — literally — as gas prices drop a whole 4 cents ... and just days after the White House begged for better coverage

CNN host Don Lemon took the the Biden White House's pleas to the media to sing the administration's praises quite seriously — and literally.

Just days ago, reports surfaced that the White House had been begging national media outlets to boost their coverage of President Job Biden as his approval numbers sink amid bad economic news, from inflation to supply chains; continuing COVID problems — remember, he vowed to end the pandemic; and foreign policy blunders and hurdles in Afghanistan, Russia, Ukraine, and more.

And Biden lackeys were not just shooting off emails and texts to so-called journalists urging positive coverage for the flailing administration; they were actually sitting down in media newsrooms to tout what they claimed was good economic news and urge, in a face-to-face setting, the outlets to report favorably on Biden and his agenda.

It appears that the cries of the administration fell on sympathetic ears — at least the ears connected to the talking head that hosts CNN's 10 p.m. time slot.

During Tuesday's episode of "Don Lemon Tonight," which, according to CNN's website, "brings in-depth analysis of the day's top news stories," Lemon took to singing the praises of the Biden administration over a four-cent drop in gas prices.

Not figuratively singing. Actually singing.

"Big economic relief for millions of Americans who have been dealing with soaring energy prices," Lemon giddily announced. "The cost at the pump finally easing up."

The average price of a gallon of gas had dropped to $3.35, down a whopping four pennies from the week before, the CNN host said, citing AAA's figures.

As a graphic highlighting that not-so-significant drop in prices ran on the screen, Lemon told his audience, "Just look at that!" and then offered an angelic choir-styled "Aaaaaah!"

After genuflecting, Lemon then introduced his totally unbiased guest, Barack Obama's chairman of the Council of Economic Advisers, Austan Goolsbee, to discuss the gloriousness of the petrol prices.

"Austan!" Lemon shouted while clapping into his mic, adding, "Can we just celebrate there's some good news, just for a minute? I'll take it where I can get it."

But what Lemon didn't bother to point out is that, though AAA did report that gas was $3.35 per gallon as of Dec. 6, the organization also noted that it is up $1.19 per gallon from a year ago.

The group also pointed out that the reason for the gas price retreat was due to fears of a COVID resurgence and the Omicron variant pushing down oil prices.

"Consumers may be catching a break at the pump right now, but it’s not for a very good reason,” AAA spokesman Andrew Gross said. “A potential COVID-19 induced economic slowdown hurts everyone and could prompt OPEC to slash production if oil prices drop too low.
