She was told to leave, but Tamara knew God had called her to stay.

Tamara and her husband, Sergei, pastored the only church in their city in Tajikistan that was home to 126 mosques.

When a delegation of Muslim women came to visit, they confronted Tamara and warned her that it was dangerous for her to stay. Yet Tamara boldly answered, “When God opens a door, only he can close it.”

Tamara and Sergei later found themselves in the crosshairs of radical Islamists. Despite facing persecution, they remained faithful to Christ.

You can read Tamara’s story in Hearts of Fire 2, which shares the inspiring true stories of courageous Christian women who remained faithful to Christ amid great opposition. You will be inspired to develop a deeper faith and pursue Christ with a heart aflame, no matter the cost!
